Connecticut Loves Turkish Towels

Turkish Towels Are Rapidly Gaining Popularity in the Nutmeg State

Bridgeport, CT: When it comes to cotton, Connecticut residents are “throwing in the towel” and moving towards Turkish cotton. “I’ve never seen so much interest in our towels before” says Ismail Aktim, Vice President of Classic Turkish Towels, an online Turkish towel retailer based in Connecticut. Google Trends shows Connecticut as the #1 state for “Turkish Towel” searches on Google.com, while showing a downtrend for historically popular towels like Egyptian and Pima cotton. Classic Turkish Towels specializes in Jacquard Towels, Peshtemal towels, Hotel & Spa Towels, & Jumbo Bath Sheets.

Classic Turkish Towels has been in business for over 15 years. While the company has done well over those years, 2018 has been a fantastic year for them. “Our business in Connecticut has doubled over the past year. We are working very hard to keep up with the demand” says Said Turan, who manages inventory for the booming Turkish towel company in Connecticut. He goes on to say “This Christmas, we will face our biggest trial yet. Keeping up with rapidly increasing demand will put our company to the test.” This Christmas, Classic Turkish Towels projects over 30,000 sets of towels to be sold in Connecticut alone. That’s a 300% increase from Christmas 2016 when the company sold approximately 11,850 towels.

If towels are on your wish list this year, consider making the switch to 100% Turkish cotton towels from Classic Turkish Towels.

  • Turkish cotton is a long fiber cotton grown in the small but productive Aegean Region of Turkey that features longer fibers for smother, stronger cotton threads.
  • Turkish cotton becomes fluffier and more absorbent after each wash, rather than decaying more and more with every use like normal cotton.
  • Classic Turkish Towels produces all of their towels in an OEKO-TEX & ISO9001 Certified mill in Denizli, Turkey, the Turkish textile capital of the world.

About The Company: Classic Turkish Towels opened their doors in 2003. Originally based in Stratford, Connecticut, the Turkish towel company has since upgraded to a large distribution center in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Ismail Aktim, a Turkish born entrepreneur, is the Vice President of Classic Turkish Towels and a resident of Connecticut.
